Job Description - Building Surveyor (Capital Projects & Corporate Portfolio)
The Client

Role Purpose
Your new organisation is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor with project management skills to join our Property Services team. The successful candidate will:
- Survey and deliver capital projects across the corporate property portfolio.
- Provide general surveying services to support the management of our commercial investment properties.
- Contribute to the effective management of assets, ensuring compliance, sustainability, and value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the delivery of complex capital projects from inception to completion.
- Undertake building surveys, feasibility studies, and condition assessments.
- Prepare specifications, tender documents, and reports.
- Manage contractors and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards.
- Provide professional advice on property matters to colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
- Support the businesses wider objectives around housing delivery, sustainability, and carbon reduction.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Formal qualification in building surveying or a related discipline.
- Proven track record of delivering complex capital projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to negotiate and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, and flexible in approach.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working within local government or the public sector.
- Knowledge of sustainability standards and carbon reduction in construction.
- Familiarity with managing commercial investment properties.
