Hays are working with a business in Shropshire who are looking to recruit into this integral role. This role would be to manage and oversee the night operation of a fleet of 60+ vehicles within the transport industry. This is a fast-paced, independent role requiring strong decision-making, excellent communication, and the ability to maintain compliance and operational efficiency throughout the night shift.
Your new role
As a Transport Coordinator, your role will involve:
- Manage the night operation of 60+ vehicles, ensuring smooth and efficient running of the transport office.
- Oversee and adjust the transport plan to resolve issues quickly.
- Assist planners with route scheduling and ensure all collections are completed.
- Liaise with the in-house customer service team regarding delivery issues.
- Ensure compliance with drivers' hours and transport regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports throughout the shift.
What you'll need to succeed
- Excellent IT skills and strong attention to detail.
- Confident decision-making and clear communication skills.
- Knowledge of drivers' hours and transport compliance.
- Ability to work independently and thrive under pressure.
- Previous experience in transport coordination or logistics preferred.
