Crynodeb
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Ward Sister in the everyday operational running of SAU and SSDEC. Supporting flow from all emergency portals and community settings as well as the prompt and timely management of patients within the departments to point of discharge or admission to the acute clinical areas for ongoing clinical management. The successful candidate will ideally have previous triage skills and experience of working within an acute emergency portal is required. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain operational responsibility for SAU and SSDEC in the absence of the senior Ward Sister. This will involve the attendance at daily flow meetings and regular liaison with site matrons, operational matrons and senior ward sisters to ensure a seamless patient progression through the departments to either point of discharge or admission for further treatments. The successful candidate will also be responsible for health and well-being of all junior staff on duty in the absence of the senior ward sister and supporting the development of junior staff members and student nurses on placement. The successful candidate will need to be able to lead by example and support the wider multi-disciplinary team that includes advanced Nurse practitioners, trainee medical students, Junior Doctors and trainee pharmacists.
