Band 5 Registered Nurse - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery outpatients dept.
Part-time: 22.5 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced and motivated nurse with excellent communication skills to work in our maxillofacial outpatient department. We are a small MDT comprising of registered nurses, registered dental nurses, health care assistant and surgeons.

Surgical experience within minor head and neck and plastic surgery and/or experience of wound management would also be desirable but not essential, full training and supervision will be provided.

The job role will involve:

1. delivering nurse led specialised dressings clinics. This will give the post holder the opportunity to learn specialised wound management skills, training, support & guidance from the senior nursing team will be provided as required.

2. Supporting and assisting the maxillofacial and oral surgeons as a scrub nurse in the minor skin and oral procedures clinic within our OPD - patient procedures are undertaken using local anaesthetic. You will act as a patient advocate and have the opportunity to follow your patient's journey from diagnosis to discharge.

Extensive training and support will be given by the senior nursing team, this is an exciting opportunity for any nurse who is interested in Skin and Mouth Cancer Management.

3. Supporting the running of outpatient clinics.
