This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact on the life of an adult with Down’s syndrome and associated learning difficulties who requires support to engage in social activities during early evening time and at weekends.
Kevin is fit, healthy and energetic!
He lives at home with his parents and attends Day Centre during the week. You will be working in a supportive environment that values compassion and dedication.
Maximum of 25hrs per week,
Weekends and flexible evening hours.£12.75 per hour
Role expectations
- Accompany and assist with transport to social activities, including swimming (he is an excellent swimmer!) Cinema, bowling, theatre, playing pool etc
- Ensure appropriate behaviour management to promote positive interactions
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life
Skills and Attributes
-Previous experience in care giving/support work is essential
-Basic first aid and emergency response protocols
-Driving licence and access to a car is preferable but not essential
-Strong interpersonal skills are essential
-Genuine compassion and desire for helping others
An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer
