SEND Teacher - Resource Base
Location: Handsworth, B21 Birmingham
Pay Rate: £160 - 250 per day
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 05/01/2026 (January)
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm
We are seeking a skilled and passionate SEND Teacher to take on a key teaching role within a primary resource provision for complex SEND pupils. This position is ideal for an experienced SEND teacher who is ready to take the lead in delivering high-quality, specialist education to pupils with EHCPs. For the right candidate, there is potential for this role to be made permanent.
You'll work closely with support staff, and the wider school team to create a nurturing and structured learning environment tailored to each child's individual needs. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (not suitable for ECTs), a SEND specialism, and relevant qualifications or training in SEND.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead teaching and learning within a resourced provision for pupils with complex SEND
- Develop and deliver personalised learning plans in line with EHCP targets
- Oversee support staff and ensure effective classroom strategies are in place
- Collaborate with SENCOs, parents and external professionals
- Monitor progress, adapt provision and maintain a safe, inclusive environment
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - not suitable for ECTs
- Proven experience working with children with complex SEND needs
- Relevant SEN qualifications and/or specialist training (autism, sensory needs, PECs, Makaton)
- Strong leadership, communication and teamworking skills
- Deep understanding of inclusive education and a passion for SEND
