SENDCO - Secondary School
£50,000 to £70,000
ASAP or January start date
PERMANENT
QTS is essential. Must have SENDCO qualification
I am recruiting for a permanent SENDCo for a high-performing secondary school in Redbridge, East London, to start as soon as possible or from January. This is a key strategic post within the school, and the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing provision for pupils with SEND across all year groups. QTS is essential for this role, and the school is specifically seeking an experienced teacher with a proven track record in supporting pupils with additional needs - this role is not suitable for ECTs.
As SENDCo, you will provide leadership and line management for the SEND team, including teaching assistants and specialist staff. You will be responsible for identifying and assessing pupils' needs, coordinating interventions, overseeing the quality of provision and ensuring that statutory requirements, including EHCP processes and review meetings, are fully met. You will work closely with teaching staff, senior leaders, external professionals and families to ensure that pupils with SEND receive the personalised support they require to succeed academically and socially.
The school is looking for someone with excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, strong organisational skills and the ability to influence whole-school practice. Experience of writing and reviewing EHCPs, leading on provision mapping and using data to evaluate impact will be particularly valuable. You will also play a central role in staff training, modelling inclusive classroom strategies and supporting colleagues to adapt their teaching effectively for pupils with a wide range of needs.
If you are an experienced, qualified teacher with substantial SEND experience seeking a SENDCo role in Redbridge to start ASAP or in January, I would be keen to hear from you. I will take the time to understand your background and career goals, talk you through the school's context, structure and expectations, and support you throughout the application and interview process so you can present your leadership, expertise and vision for inclusive education with confidence.
