Our client, a dedicated and inclusive educational institution located in the picturesque town of Yelverton, Devon, is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Full-Time Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a Teaching Assistant - SEN, you will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans tailored to each student's unique needs
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to enhance students' understanding of course material and facilitate their progress
- Assisting with the preparation of educational resources and adapting materials to meet the specific requirements of SEN students
- Encouraging student participation, engagement, and social interaction through creative and inclusive teaching strategies
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating regularly with teachers and parents

To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A genuine commitment to supporting and empowering students with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
- Patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by SEN students
- Adaptability and creativity in developing innovative teaching approaches to engage and motivate learners
- Proficiency in utilising assistive technologies and educational software to enhance the learning experience

While prior experience working with SEN students is highly desirable, our client is open to candidates with a strong passion for inclusive education and a willingness to learn and grow within the role. Relevant qualifications, such as a Teaching Assistant certification or a degree in Special Education, are advantageous but not essential.
