Crynodeb

The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the University of Bath seeks to utilise the power of sport to foster the best environment to enable individuals to thrive.

The Department manages and organises a range of activities under the University’s sports brand - Team Bath - and aspires to create a world leading multi-sport environment delivering to elite athletes, staff, and students of the University and the local and regional community. Based in the inspiring £35m Sports Training Village, the Department offers a wide range of high-quality sports activities, programmes, events, services, and facilities catering for all ages and abilities.

In addition, we are recognised by UK Sport as one of only eight Elite Training Centres, providing the training base for around 250 international level athletes. This is an opportunity to become part of a professional and progressive organisation at the leading edge of sport, health, and fitness.

The Times have also just awarded Bath as the Sport University of the Year for 2026

Whilst we take immense pride in our inspiring spaces and our sporting heritage, it is the energy of our people and our customers that truly matters. We are customer obsessed and take great pleasure in creating fantastic experiences and memories for our customers.

About the role

We wish to appoint someone who shares this same people-focussed approach to join our Facility Sales team.

This is a commercially focussed role and as such we want to find somebody who is target-focussed and has the drive to seek new business and customers to utilise our exciting sports facilities. Equally, there is a need to build meaningful relationships with existing clients to retain business and to grow our reputation. Whilst you will have individual areas of responsibility, a team-based approach is essential to ensure the business of the team runs efficiently and that you perform well in the role.

About you

Our diverse customer groups include the vibrant student population (both individuals and clubs), university staff, high performance athletes and their supporting NGBs (National Governing Bodies), the local community (individuals and clubs) and visiting professional sports teams.

The successful candidate will need to:
* find creative solutions to support the needs of all of these groups
* prospect for new business
* provide good customer experience and retention of business to drive commercial success
* drive new summer facility opportunities
* complete administration and financial tasks

Further information

This is a part-time role working 29.2 hours per week (0.8 fte) spread equally throughout the working week (Monday to Friday) for a fixed-term period to cover parental leave until December 2026.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Catherine Evans, Facilities Sales & Development Manager (C.Williams@bath.ac.uk), however, please submit your application via the University website.
