This is a Fixed Term role until 31st December 2027 working full-time.
We are seeking a skilled researcher to join the Suicide Prevention & Mental Health (SPMH) team at Swansea University, led by Prof. Ann John. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge population mental health research, working on projects within a £10M+ portfolio, including Datamind, the National Centre for Suicide Prevention and Self-Harm Research and the Wolfson centre for Young People's Mental Health..
In this multidisciplinary role, you will work with large-scale healthcare data, focusing on early-onset depression and mental health outcomes in young people. You will contribute to research that impacts areas such as child and adolescent mental health, and suicide prevention.
We are looking for a Psychiatry Epidemiologist to join us on the groundbreaking Wolfson project, as part of the wider Suicide Prevention and Mental Health (SPMH) Team at Swansea University. You will work closely with Project Managers and the wider Research team to investigate predictors of depression and anxiety and its clinical outcomes. The aim of the Wolfson project is to advance the understanding of risk factors for youth depression and anxiety and then disseminate these findings via publications and our external stakeholders via policy briefings and conference presentations.
A passion for making a positive impact on mental health and well-being is essential. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking project focused on innovative research, collaboration, and developing evidence-based strategies for suicide and self-harm prevention.
