What skills and experience we're looking for
The pupils, staff and governors at The Carlton Infant Academy wish to appoint an enthusiastic and supportive Midday Supervisor to join the team over lunchtime, from December 2025.
We are keen to appoint someone who is caring, flexible, conscientious and experienced in good behaviour management. We are proud of the positive ethos in our school and we are looking for someone with a calm and efficient manner who can work under pressure and has the ability to communicate effectively with both adults and young children. Lunchtime is an important part of the school day and we are looking for staff to provide high quality play experience for all our children. To be successful in this role, we are looking for applicants to meet the below essential and desirable criteria:
Essential Criteria
Experience & Skills
• Ability to work effectively with children in a school setting.
• Good communication skills with both children and adults.
• Ability to manage groups of children and maintain order during lunchtime
Personal Qualities
• Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards children.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle minor incidents confidently.
Knowledge
• Awareness of safeguarding and child protection principles.
• Basic understanding of health and safety in a school environment.
Desirable Criteria
• Previous experience working with children (e.g., in a school, nursery, or youth setting).
• First Aid training or willingness to undertake training.
• Knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies.
Other Requirements
• Commitment to promoting equality and inclusion.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g., safeguarding, first aid).
Applicants should be able to work as part of a team and ideally have some experience of working with children. The hours of work will be 11.45am to 1.15pm
