What skills and experience we're looking for

• Very good numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to GCSE C and above.
• NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistant (or recognised equivalent qualification)
• Experience:-

• Supporting pupils’ with social, emotional and mental health needs access to learning using appropriate strategies, resources etc. Implementing agreed learning activities, teaching programmes and behaviour management techniques and gateways under the direction of class teacher
• Working with other staff in planning, evaluating and adjusting learning activities as appropriate.
• Monitoring and evaluating pupils’ responses and progress against action plans through observation and planned recording.
• Under direction of class teacher, providing objective and accurate feedback and reports as required, to other staff on pupils’ achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence (e.g. Headteacher).
• Being responsible for keeping and updating records as agreed with class teacher, contributing to reviews of systems/records as requested.

• Working with young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, with a good knowledge of SEND and safeguarding legislation
