TEST & INSPECT ELECTRICIAN
Carbon60 is recruiting an experienced Test & Inspect to support electrical inspection, testing, and maintenance activities across a major industrial manufacturing site in East Kilbride.
ROLE: Test & Inspect Electrician
PAY RATE: £40,000 per annum (Approx)
CONTRACT TYPE: Temp to Perm - November 2025 to December 2025
LOCATION: East Kilbride, UK
WORKING PATTERN: Monday to Friday
THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Test & Inspect Electrician to join the Electrical Inspection & Testing Team responsible for delivering statutory compliance, planned testing, high-quality reporting, and safe operational performance across a large industrial manufacturing facility.
Reporting directly to the Site T&I Supervisor, you will conduct electrical testing and inspection activities, support plant maintenance operations, ensure adherence to safe working procedures, and uphold high standards of customer service and technical compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician with strong testing and inspection expertise to play a key operational role, with the potential for a permanent opportunity based on performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ)
Ensure all works follow Safe Systems of Work and the site Permit to Work processes.
Promote a strong safety culture and complete mandatory SHEQ training.
Support the Site Supervisor/Manager in maintaining quality compliance and documentation.
Client & On-Site Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong working relationships with the site engineering team and facility personnel
Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining a high standard of conduct, presentation, and communication.
Operational Delivery
Complete all Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works in accordance with competency and contract requirements.
Maintain and update statutory records, ensuring they are always audit-ready.
Support the safe operation, fault diagnosis, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment.
Perform scheduled testing and inspection activities including (but not limited to):
Emergency lighting
ECIR
Illumination levels
Infra-red testing
Motors
PAT testing
Static discharge systems
Lightning protection systems
Ensure site leadership is kept informed of safety issues, plant performance, and operational concerns.
Complete all documentation and administrative tasks accurately and promptly (digital or paper-based).
Other Responsibilities
Escalate safety, environmental, or operational issues according to procedures.
Work proactively as part of the wider engineering team, supporting first-class TFM service delivery.
Undertake additional duties as required by management.
ROLE COMPLEXITY
The position requires strong autonomy, technical competence, and the ability to manage day-to-day responsibilities including:
Electrical testing and verification of single-phase and three-phase industrial systems
Working understanding of relevant legislation, safety regulations, and standards
Managing Safe Systems of Work and contributing to site compliance
Supporting contract performance, planning, and engineering execution
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Skills
Recognised apprenticeship and primary trade qualifications
ECS Gold Card - Installation Electrician (Essential)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Essential)
C&G 2391 / Testing & Inspection (Desirable)
Experience within building services or manufacturing environments
Familiarity with CMMS/CAFM systems (e.g., SAM FM, SAP, Planon) - desirable
Knowledge
Health & Safety legislation, including IOSH Managing Safely
COSHH awareness
Water hygiene and site technical systems
Facilities management processes
Quality procedures and environmental management systems
