We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist autism school on a temporary basis, supporting KS2 classes and Year 7 Nurture groups. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with individual needs, some of whom may have been out of education for a significant period.
Location: Disley, SK12
Rate: Up to £125/day
Contract: Temporary, long-term
Hours: 8:30 - 4:30, Full-time, Term-Time Only
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with autism and additional needs, ensuring they can access learning effectively.
- Assist in delivering engaging lessons and activities in KS2 and Year 7 Nurture classes.
- Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining firm and consistent boundaries.
- Support pupils in overcoming personal barriers to education and promoting emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider team to create a safe, structured, and stimulating environment.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Experience working with children with autism or additional needs, preferably within a school or care environment
- Ability to set clear boundaries while fostering positive relationships.
- High energy, creativity, and resilience to thrive in busy classroom environments.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting pupils' development.
