Lunch Cover Assistant

Location: Partou Thornbury, South Gloucestershire

Contract: Part-time, Permanent — up to £12.26 per hour

Partou Thornbury is part of one of Europe's leading childcare providers, offering high-quality early years education and care. We are looking for a friendly and reliable Lunch Cover Assistant to join our team and support children during busy lunchtime periods. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a positive difference in their day.

Our Thornbury nursery is a welcoming and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow. With spacious rooms, outdoor areas, and strong community ties, we provide a supportive setting for both children and staff.

As a Lunch Cover Assistant, you will help supervise children during mealtimes, support staff with routines, and ensure the nursery remains a safe, welcoming environment. You'll assist with setting up and clearing away meals, encourage healthy eating, and provide comfort and care to children as they transition between activities.

Who we're looking for

We're seeking someone who is caring, reliable, and enjoys working with young children. Previous childcare experience is helpful but not essential — what matters most is a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to supporting the team.

What we'll give you

At Partou Thornbury, we value every member of our team. You'll receive a competitive hourly rate (up to £12.26 per hour), access to professional training through the Partou Academy, a 60% childcare discount, enhanced family leave, pension scheme, your birthday off, health & wellbeing support, and access to EPIC — our rewards and recognition platform.

Be part of the National Partnership in Early Learning and Childcare (NPELC) — a collective of 10 leading childcare providers across England, operating over 1,300 settings, employing more than 38,000 people, and caring for over 160,000 children.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.

Partou UK works to the highest standard of Safer Recruitment, and all applicants will undergo robust background and vetting checks prior to employment, including an Enhanced DBS with barring list check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975.
