Summary

We are working closely alongside with local authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of a Payments Assistant on a 5.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.26- £16.82 per hour

Summary:

The Payments Assistant supports the Placements & Commissioning team within Children and Families, performing a vital administrative and clerical function. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments relating to children's services placements. The successful candidate will work within a small, collaborative team (six members) and will be expected to maintain high levels of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail while utilising multiple IT systems daily.

Responsibilities:

Process payments and financial transactions in accordance with council procedures and audit requirements.
Maintain and update financial records across multiple systems with high accuracy.
Use multiple systems throughout the day, ensuring accurate cross-referencing and data integrity.
Work confidently with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Organise and plan daily tasks effectively, maintaining awareness of priorities and deadlines.
Contribute positively to a small team of six, ensuring smooth workflow, collaborative communication, and shared awareness of tasks.

Essentials:

Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise competing workloads.
Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
Fast learner with the ability to pick up multiple systems.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills to work effectively within a small team.
Ability to multi-task in a busy administrative and financial environment.
Reliable, proactive, and committed to meeting deadlines.
