What you’ll be doing
As our Education Support Assistant, you’ll play a key role within our education team, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of our field courses and environmental activities.
You’ll prepare fieldwork equipment and classrooms for learners of all abilities, ensure spaces are clean and safe, and organise lesson and health and safety resources for learning groups.
You may accompany teaching staff on field trips, support students during their fieldwork, help run environmental or problem-solving games, and assist with the collection of class data.
Working in a busy and dynamic environment, you’ll be adaptable, proactive, and happy to support the wider team to help the centre run efficiently.

Where you’ll be based
The Field Studies Council Millport centre is situated on the Isle of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. With purpose-built teaching spaces, sea views, comfortable accommodation, and access to a Research Vessel, Millport offers a truly inspiring environment for outdoor learning.
The island itself becomes a living classroom, with opportunities for coastal exploration, snorkelling, hill walking, rock climbing, and team challenges. Working here means being part of a passionate team in a remarkable setting that encourages curiosity, creativity, and connection with nature.

A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject is desirable but not essential, it is more important to us that you have:
