Hours: 28 per week | Salary: from £13.50 per hour (pro-rata, full-time equivalent ~£25,968/year)

Are you an experienced retail leader looking for
a role where you can make a real difference? The Gate Charity Shop in Alloa is seeking a Senior Shop Manager to bring specialist retail expertise, drive income growth, and lead our volunteer team.
About the Role:
This senior position goes beyond traditional shop management, focusing on strategic operations, specialist selling, marketing, and volunteer development. You’ll work alongside our current shop manager to maximise performance, improve income, and strengthen the team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day shop operations, maintaining high standards in presentation, merchandising, and stock management.
• Drive income growth through selling, including alternative channels like online or local events.
• Promote the shop via social media, local networks, and community engagement initiatives.
• Lead, motivate, and develop volunteers, providing guidance to support their growth.
• Monitor sales, manage cash and stock performance, and produce regular performance reports.
• Build partnerships with local businesses and community groups to enhance the shop’s profile.
Person Specification:
Essential:
• Proven experience in retail management, charity shops, or high-volume sales.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, especially with volunteers.
• Knowledge of social media marketing, community engagement, and alternative sales channels.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and deliver results.
Desirable:
• Experience in specialist selling or high-value items.
• Experience mentoring or supporting other managers.
