The Digital Channels Customer Experience Team are playing a key role in delivering the Digital Transformation of Customer Experience across DWP; building a digital first, multi-channel experience that supports the needs of our customers in a modern and consistent way. Operating across all DWP functions, you’ll lead and manage significant transformational change in a complex environment, ensuring that we are customer and user centred in our ambitions for future channels and customer interactions. You’ll bring experience in transforming customer engagement at enterprise scale within a complex organisational environment.
Citizen Information are responsible for the eco-system of digital products and services that underpin our use of customer data. This means daily responsibility for the security and performance of our current services, enabling colleagues in DWP and across the public sector to do their jobs and serve our customers. You’ll have responsibility for Leading and driving delivery of the next generation of Digital products, evolving existing products and amplifying our ability to share data and deliver quality services which will transform the journeys of customers and citizens alike. You will bring extensive delivery experience of working cross departmentally in a complex and fast changing environment. Please note: the role within this team will require you to travel to the Newcastle hub on a weekly basis.
As a Lead Digital Project Manager, you will:
Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple programmes or projects in parallel that are high risk, or which have significant business impact, that will need to be delivered on time, under strict scope and cost constraints.
Ensure programmes or projects are commercially viable and deliver value, considering impacts and opportunities for existing services.
Manage risks, issues, and dependencies (external and internal) for complex programmes and coach other members of the Digital Project Management community to help them manage risks and issues effectively.
Manage team dynamics, leading by example, demonstrating the right behaviours. Deal with conflict and helps establish a positive team culture.
Manage stakeholder relationships at the most senior level, helping resolve strategic risks, issues and conflicts.
Help set priorities for the programme and help and support other members of the Digital Project Manager community to navigate complex stakeholder environment.
Manage supplier relationships at a strategic level, overseeing procurement activities to ensure compliance with departmental policies, helping resolve complex or high-risk commercial issues, and securing value for money for the department.
Line manage, mentor, coach and support the senior digital project managers and help identify development and growth opportunities for them and the wider Delivery community.
