Title: Programme Officer – Latent Defects

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time, 37.5 hours

Salary: £38,185 per annum to £42,417 per annum (London weighted salary) or £34,563 per annum to £38,374 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience

Grade: 7

Reporting Office: London, Stratford or Manchester, Trafford

Persona: Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working)

Working Location: 8.30am – 5pm Monday - Friday

Join our Latent Defects Team at L&Q:



As a Programme Officer, you will play a key role within the Latent Defects Team, supporting the delivery of programmes of work designed to resolve complex and multifaceted defects across L&Q’s stock. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will help ensure these specialist projects are effectively monitored, coordinated and delivered — working closely with Technical Inspectors, Project Management, Commercial teams and both internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves working alongside our Finance partners to ensure project budgets, cashflow and forecasts are accurately recorded, monitored and reported at project level, as well as ensuring the team’s project tracker remains fully up to date. This position is essential in helping L&Q manage risks, maintain quality and ensure that residents receive timely and accurate communication throughout the remediation process, supporting our commitment to resolving latent defects in a structured, compliant and value-driven way.

Your impact in the role:



This will involve working closely with internal colleagues across the Development Team to monitor agreed tasks and milestones and ensure that wider stakeholders are provided with regular updates and information regarding progress. We will rely on you also to monitor team and project budgets, oversee payments and ensure L&Q is receiving best value for money. Compiling data and producing internal reports will be key to this role



What you'll bring:



Highly developed organisational, planning and project management skills, able to demonstrate results and deliver continuous improvement.
Experience of working for a main contractor, developer or in housing association/local authority or a similar field.

Demonstrable collaboration, stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills
Computer literate with a good proven competency in MS Office
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong project co-ordination skills and the ability to multi task and meet deadlines
