Role: Senior Practitioner – Area Services
We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner (4+ years post-qualified experience) to join our Area Services team. This is a key role providing leadership and expertise in complex casework, supporting children, young people, and families across Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities
Lead on improving the quality of professional social work practice across the casework cycle.

Manage a complex caseload, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.

Provide technical expertise, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced social workers.

Share knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and departmental procedures.

Promote effective partnership working with service users, teams, and external agencies.

Contribute to performance management reporting and quality assurance.

Represent the Trust at meetings and support the Team Manager with service needs.

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with 4+ years’ post-qualified experience.

Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, guidance, and best practice.

Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide professional supervision.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Enhanced DBS required.
