Description

Job Title: Senior Practitioner (Children's) CAP
Location: County Hall, Worcester, WR5 2NP
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-time (37 hours/week)
Rate: £25.03 per hour PAYE
Start Date: Roughly December
End Date: approx. 3 months)

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner (Children's) to work with vulnerable children and their families. You will assess risks and needs, coordinate multi-agency support, and ensure the welfare of children is paramount. This hard-to-fill temporary role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while delivering high-quality social work services.

Key Responsibilities:

Work in partnership with children and families to address social, emotional, and environmental needs

Assess risks and needs of vulnerable children and coordinate services to improve outcomes

Operate self-sufficiently in applying relevant legislation, policy, procedures, and social work theory

Gather and analyse information to complete statutory assessments, including consideration of alternative placements

Represent the Authority in court when required and provide expert evidence

Attend and contribute to a range of meetings, including case reviews and multi-agency planning

Develop, implement, and review multi-agency outcome-focused plans for children and young people

Undertake day duty tasks including visits, calls, and meetings

Candidate Requirements:

Degree in Social Work or CQSW, DipSW, CSS

Registered with Social Work England (SWE)

Advanced knowledge of national and local policies relating to children, child protection, and Looked After Children

Essential knowledge of care planning, case conferencing, and Looked After Children Reviews

Ability to write complex reports for court to national standards

Experience in safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical practice

Strong communication, organisational, and multi-agency coordination skills
