What skills and experience we're looking for
The role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated leader who is approachable, kind, caring and driven to join our happy, nurturing and successful school team at Colmore Infant and Nursery School. We are proud of our welcoming ‘Colmore Family’ community and are now looking for a deputy head teacher to help lead the school on the next stage of our journey.
In our most recent OFSTED inspection in November 2023 we successfully maintained
Outstanding in all areas. Our mantra, since our previous inspection in 2011 has always been, ‘Outstanding but not perfect’ and as a school we continually strive to give the children the best education we can with the resources we have.
The post is a full-time permanent position from April 2026.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is an experienced Deputy Head Teacher; or is an experienced Assistant Head Teacher who has worked across multiple key stages, including EYFS
• Is able to articulate a strong, clear vision for high quality primary education which maximises the potential of the school
• Demonstrates an understanding of the need to develop and sustain a safe, secure, healthy and fair school environment
• Has demonstrated outstanding classroom practice and who can model the principles of effective teaching and learning to a high standard
• Be a Designated Safeguarding Lead (or have significant DSL experience) with a deep understanding of KCSIE and statutory safeguarding duties.
• Demonstrate expertise in inclusion and SEND leadership, with strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and graduated approaches.
• Has excellent organisation and interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• Is approachable and has integrity and embeds an ethos of trust, openness and positivity
