What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Mathematics who is passionate about teaching and learning, and committed to helping every student achieve their best. The successful candidate will be able to deliver high-quality lessons across the full age and ability range at Key Stages 3 and 4.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner to join a strong, successful, and supportive Mathematics team within a high-performing, forward-thinking school.
What the school offers its staff
Oathall is an ambitious, forward thinking and growing 11-16 community college with over 1300 students. The school is characterised by our high expectations and an absolute commitment to raising standards and achievement for all. We are committed to Continuing Professional Learning through a strong training programme and work closely with our local federation schools.
The Maths Faculty consists of thirteen specialist teachers. The Maths teachers follow an enquiry based approach to learning and the comprehensive schemes of work are continually reviewed to ensure sequential learning at the highest standards. Students make outstanding progress with 80% of students achieving 4+ (national figure 74%), 64% of students achieving 5+ (national figure 54%) and 24% of students achieving 7+ at GCSE last year (national figure 22%),
Maths is accommodated in well-resourced subject specific classrooms. The faculty has a suite of Chromebooks for students to use and there is a dedicated work area for staff.
