Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust processes and accurate reporting. You'll deliver weekly KPIs and monthly management accounts, enhance reporting capabilities, and support senior leadership with commercial insight. The role combines hands-on financial management with strategic oversight, including:

  • Supervising banking, invoicing, and reviewing sales and purchase ledgers
  • Maintaining balance sheet control accounts, stock reports, and fixed asset registers
  • Producing accurate weekly forecasts and monthly management packs
  • Driving systems improvements and implementing new reporting dashboards
  • Managing and developing a Finance Assistant to ensure an efficient finance function
  • Preparing VAT returns (UK and overseas) and statutory accounts packs
  • Acting as a key point of contact for auditors, banks, and HMRC
  • Leading ad hoc financial projects to support business growth

What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience in a fast-paced SME environment. Key attributes include:

  • Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and motivate a small team
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience in improving systems and processes
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with commercial awareness
