Salary: Starting at £14.12 per hour, rising with training (up to £14.54)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts:

• Early: 05:00–13:00
• Day: 09:00–17:00
• Late: 13:00–Finish
• Sundays: 06:00–Finish (typically 10–11 hours)

Our agency is delighted to be supporting a well-established dairy manufacturer in Tewkesbury in their search for a Trainee Process Operative. About the Role

The Trainee Process Operative will join a busy production team responsible for the safe and hygienic intake, control, and processing of raw milk. This position includes hands-on learning, industry training, and clear progression into a full Process Operative role and beyond.

Working Pattern:

• 5 shifts per week, Monday–Sunday
• Rotating start times depending on operational needs (from 05:00)

Your Training & Development Pathway

Stage 1: Trainee Process Operative (6–7 months)

• Work on the external tanker bay, ensuring hygienic raw milk intake
• Gain practical process experience
• Study for a Level 2 Food Safety & HACCP qualification
• Receive continuous support from the Learning & Development team

Stage 2: Process Operative Progression

• Move into internal tank operations
• Train in the Pasteurisation process
• Work toward a Level 3 Food Safety & HACCP qualification
• Opportunity to progress to Process Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Safely intake, control, and process dairy products within strict hygiene standards
• Operate machinery, including CIP equipment, following company procedures
• Support safe working practices and maintain excellent hygiene
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and liaise across departments
• Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining smooth production flow

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in food production or machine operation is highly desirable
• Candidates from fast-paced or process-driven environments will also be considered
• Strong attention to detail and methodical working style
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work varying shifts and adapt to business needs
• Must adhere to strict food hygiene rules: only a plain wedding band allowed; no jewellery, makeup, perfumes, or strong deodorants in production areas
