Utilising the specialist Peri-operative care plan the post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient/client within the sphere of responsibility in the recovery department and in all peripheral service delivery areas within Bedford Hospital To maintain safe and effective airway management of patients who arrive to the Recovery department, in conjunction with pain management processes. Ensuring effective and efficient channels of communication are maintained with all disciplines of staff, patients and relatives. Ability to give and receive complex and sensitive information identifying individual needs and dealing with barriers to understanding as appropriate. Competently carry out a wide range of clinical duties according to professional training and departmental protocols, being proficient to work in recovery, across Bedford Hospital NHS Trust In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team participates in the setting, monitoring and evaluation of standards of care. Works effectively as a team member. In line with departmental policies will collect information and maintain patient records accordingly, eg; patient care plans, OPERA system.
