Summary
Hays are seeking a professional and friendly Receptionist to join a welcoming Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Bolton. As the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and families, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school office. This specialist school supports pupils with complex needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Down Syndrome
- Sensory Impairments (Hearing & Vision)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
Location: Bolton
Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary with potential to become permanent
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Greeting visitors and managing the school's reception area.
- Answering calls and handling enquiries in a professional manner.
- Supporting administrative tasks such as attendance, data entry, and filing.
- Liaising with staff and external agencies when required.
- Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding standards at all times.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in a school office is desirable
- Previous experience in an administrative/receptionist role is essential
- Experience in the use of school MIS (SIMS, Bromcom, Arbor) is desirable
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Excellent telephone manner and experience managing busy switchboards
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
- Knowledge and experience of SEND settings is an advantage but not essential
