We are recruiting for someone to join our friendly hard-working team here at
Loch Arthur Farm Shop in our Fruit and Vegetable Department.
Our Farm Shop sells local produce and organic products as well as food and crafts made here at Loch Arthur. Loch Arthur is a working community with our own farms, garden, creamery, bakery and craft workshops and also provides supported living for adults with learning disabilities.
We are looking for a candidate who can work 4 or 5 days per week and who has the ability to work on their own using their initiative but also as part of a team.
Although this role is mainly in our Fruit and Vegetable Department it will also include working in the main Farm Shop with the rest of our team. This team includes adults with Learning Disabilities so we are looking for candidates who demonstrate patience and respect with customers and colleagues. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service.
Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential, however the ability to cope with the pressures of a busy customer service environment is essential. We especially look for people with a strong interest in food and who want to work with local and organic produce.
This position includes the following duties:
• Dealing with deliveries including receiving, sorting and storing produce
• Creating displays of our fruit and vegetables and maintaining the display
• Serving customers within the farm shop, including support on the tills
• Making up and dispatching customer orders
• Maintaining awareness of fresh and perishable foods - assisting in stocking, sorting, rotating and displaying these products
• Maintaining standards of cleanliness, hygiene and quality within and around the shop and storage areas
Successful applicants will be required to undergo clearance for working with vulnerable adults (PVG).
