Job Overview
A Gas Engineer is a skilled tradesperson primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas appliances, pipework, and heating systems in domestic and commercial properties. The role is critical for ensuring public safety and maintaining compliance with strict gas regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The core duties include conducting annual Landlord Gas Safety Certificates (CP12s), performing urgent fault diagnosis and repair on boilers and heating controls, servicing various gas appliances, and installing new systems. Engineers must accurately complete all job documentation and maintain high levels of customer service.
Skills & Requirements
The essential requirements are holding current and relevant modules of Gas Safe Registration and proven technical competence in gas diagnostics. A strong focus on health and safety and usually a valid driving licence for site travel are mandatory.
