Are you organised, proactive, and great with people? We’re looking for someone to join our Executive Support Team in the Faculty of Health as a Personal Assistant to the Head of School (School of Psychology). This is a job-share role where you’ll be at the heart of the School’s operations—managing diaries, juggling priorities, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. You’ll also lead an Assistant Administrator, helping shape how the office works day to day.
If you enjoy being that calm, capable presence others rely on—and love working as part of a supportive team—this could be the perfect role for you.
What you’ll do
• Provide a high-level, confidential PA service to the Head of School, and support Associate Heads and Faculty Executives when needed.
• Act as the key point of contact in the office, ensuring professional and efficient operations.
• Line manage an Assistant Administrator, guiding and supporting their work.
• Organise meetings and events, manage diaries, and take minutes.
• Deliver a customer-focused, cost-effective administrative service with diplomacy and professionalism.
What we’re looking for
• Proven PA or senior administrative experience, ideally in a large organisation or academic setting.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, confident in liaising with senior staff and handling sensitive information.
• Leadership experience, including line management or mentoring.
• A team-oriented mindset and flexible approach to shared tasks and changing priorities.
Why join us?
You’ll be part of a close-knit Executive Support Team known for being resourceful, organised, and collaborative. We support each other, share knowledge, and value everyone’s contribution. If you enjoy working with people who care about what they do—and each other—you’ll feel right at home here.
This is a part-time job-share role, working from Wednesday noon through to full days Thursday and Friday. You’ll be joining a collaborative and friendly team, where teamwork is essential. You’ll also contribute to wider team activities, offering support and guidance to colleagues across the Faculty.
For this role, you will need to be on site 2 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.
The Faculty of Health holds four Silver Athena Swan awards, which recognise our commitment to supporting gender equality within higher education.
