Primary Duties and Areas of Responsibility Clinical Support Carry out basic health checks (blood pressure, BMI, pulse, lifestyle screening) and document findings accurately. Support pop-up vaccination and health eventspreparing and restocking areas, maintaining cold chain procedures, and assisting clinicians. Undertake phlebotomy, ECG recording, and wound care if trained and competent. Support the delivery of smoking cessation clinics, including assessment, counselling, and follow-up support. Apply theMake Every Contact Count (MECC)approach, using every patient interaction to promote healthy lifestyle changes. Assist in opportunistic screening and support with health promotion conversations during outreach visits. Health Promotion & Smoking Cessation Provide one-to-one and group-based smoking cessation advice and behavioural support. Educate patients on the risks of smoking, available treatments, and coping strategies. Support patients with nicotine replacement or other cessation therapies under clinical guidance. Promote wider health awarenesscovering vaccination, screening, mental wellbeing, and self-carethrough engagement at community events and outreach sites. Work as part of the Equity and RASS clinical team to identify and engage individuals from inclusion health cohorts. Support people to register with GP practices and access community or secondary care where needed. Deliver care that is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and person-centred. Liaise with interpreters, support workers, and voluntary sector partners to ensure clear communication and holistic care. Escalate any safeguarding concerns in line with ABC and statutory safeguarding procedures. Administration & Governance Maintain accurate, confidential patient records (manual and electronic). Contribute to data collection and reporting for service monitoring and evaluation. Follow ABCs policies on infection control, confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding. Attend supervision, mandatory training, and team meetings to maintain competence and reflective practice. Supervision Regular supervisions on a one-to-one basis including an annual formal appraisal will be held with a line manager. If you are in a patient-facing role, you will also receive regular Clinical Supervisions with a Clinical Supervisor. Working hours This role is available as one full day per week (8.5 hours inclusive of 30 minutes unpaid break), or two half days of 4 hours each.
