We have an exciting opportunity for someone with the right experience to join the MSEFT Patient safety Team. We are a small team with a real focus on the patient and staff experience.
As our Patient Safety Coordinator, you will work as part of the Patient Safety Team to promote a positive learning environment where changes are established and embedded to improve patient safety, experience and outcomes.
You will foster an open learning culture that supports the organisation to effectively recognise, report and learn lessons from incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken in response such that all regulatory requirements.
The role is required to work to support the leadership of patient safety across all sites within the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust footprint, with a requirement to travel to different site locations and be present within the sites and clinical areas as required.

This role involves providing support to the Patient Safety Managers and the Deputy Head of Patient Safety as designated by the Head of Patient Safety in the delivery of an effective Clinical Governance Assurance Framework to enhance the quality and safety of the services provided. The post holder will work in such a way as to help promote a culture that actively improves patient safety, quality and a learning culture within the Trust.
Specifically the role will include facilitating the effective and timely review of incidents, their management through patient safety learning responses and the implementation of safety actions and improvement opportunities.
An expert knowledge of the incident and risk management systems will support timely review and response to patient safety events, the oversight of duty of candour and provision of regular reports to ensure all national and regulatory requirements are met.
The postholder will ensure the MSEFT has a robust mechanism to effectively deliver the requirement for duty of candour quality in line with the regulatory requirements.
This post involves working and liaising with a multi-disciplinary team including the MSE Patient Safety, Risk and Compliance Teams, Legal Team clinicians, managers and other administrative staff in a professional manner in written, verbal and electronic formats.
