Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a single-form entry primary school in Ellesmere Port as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced teaching assistant for a long-term full-time contract. This is an extremely supportive and welcoming school that requires a strong teaching assistant to support the nursery class, starting in the new year and lasting until the end of the academic year.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining a highly experienced EYFS cohort. You will be based within the nursery class, offering 1:1 and small group support as required. You will work in collaboration with the class teacher to promote engagement by utilising an array of classroom equipment and tailoring lessons/activities to best suit pupils' interests. You will lead on small group interventions with a focus on phonics using the RWI scheme and learn through play sessions to support social and emotional development. Other duties will include:
- General classroom and behaviour management
- Implementing positive behaviour strategies
- Personal care/nappy changing
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check, have referenceable classroom experience, and:
- Good knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
- Be at minimum Level 2 Children's Care, Learning and Development or equivalent qualified
- Be able to commit to a full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
