We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic undergraduate student to join the Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care (OTEC) group at NDORMS, the University of Oxford. This placement supports the clinical research undertaken by Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care group by providing technical solutions and support for the research team.
As a Data Management Assistant, you will assist with the management of data collection systems/analysis of meta-data (there will be no analysis of identifiable patient data). You will work with the Senior Research Information Specialist to improve the quality of the data collected. This will involve the review of processes and developing new ways of working. You will also work with the Senior Research Information Specialist to create and develop data collection systems and specifications. In this position you will carry out missing data and quality checks by reviewing documents, checking against query lists, and contacting site staff for further information. You will also work with the Senior Research Information Specialist in the writing, reviewing, and running test scripts and other support documentation for trial databases.
For this position you must be educated to A Level standard or equivalent and currently an undergraduate student on a sandwich year course, studying for a numerate subject. You must have the ability to identify solutions to problems/requirements in an efficient manner. You will also be computer literate, including familiarity with the internet, and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. You must have the ability to work speedily in a methodical way, paying attention to detail and ensuring accuracy and work on routine matters with minimum supervision and you must demonstrable aptitude for learning and using a variety of software packages, with a balanced approach to solving problems with initiative and seeking advice when necessary.
Experience in software programming or data science related disciplines is desirable.
