You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, colleagues and partners, providing clear information and helping to keep our service running smoothly. Key tasks include:
• Handling incoming enquiries
• Supporting casework and maintaining accurate records
• Checking evidence for benefit claims and financial support
• Completing grant applications
• Liaising with internal teams and external agencies
• Promoting engagement and representing the service at community events
In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, colleagues and partner organisations, offering clear information and a friendly, reassuring presence. You’ll support the smooth running of the service by managing enquiries, maintaining accurate case records and introducing customers to the right adviser at the right time. You’ll help gather and verify evidence for benefit claims, complete applications for financial assistance and ensure funds are protected through careful checking and attention to detail.
Collaboration is key—you’ll work closely with internal teams and external agencies to make sure customers get the right support, and you’ll play an active role in promoting our service across the community. No two days are the same, and you’ll continuously build your knowledge of the benefits system through ongoing learning and development.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, empathetic and an excellent communicator, with the confidence to work with vulnerable residents and the professionalism to handle sensitive information. In return, you’ll join a supportive team at the heart of the council’s efforts to strengthen financial resilience in our community.
This role is a fixed term, 6 month position.
If you’re passionate about helping people and ready for a role with real purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
