Teaching Assistant
Liverpool
Full time to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year in July 2026
Monday to Friday 8am-3pm
Are you motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a difference?
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and forward-thinking team, working with students aged 11-16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant in our SEMH provision, you will:
- Support young people in overcoming barriers to learning, both in and out of the classroom
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe, understood, and valued
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver tailored support and interventions
- Encourage and model positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional regulation
- Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed
What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from you if you are:
- Motivated and genuinely committed to helping young people thrive
- Enthusiastic, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Team-focused, able to collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Empathetic and patient, with the ability to build strong, supportive relationships
- Resilient, understanding that progress can take time-and every small step counts
Experience in SEMH, SEN or youth work is beneficial but not essential-we value attitude, commitment, and the desire to grow in the role. Training and ongoing support will be provided.
What We Offer
- A friendly, passionate, and supportive staff team
- Opportunities for professional development and training
- A chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people
- A positive, nurturing school environment where staff wellbeing is valued
Why Work with The Education Specialists?
- Weekly pay through PAYE - no umbrella deductions
- Dedicated local consultant for ongoing support and feedback
- Access to TES CPD and discounted wellbeing and behaviour training through our partners
- Long-term placements with the opportunity to go permanent
- Refer-a-Friend bonus scheme
