What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and motivated Independent Careers Adviser to join our successful and oversubscribed school and sixth form.

The post holder will provide independent, impartial and high-quality careers guidance to students of The Willink School and Sixth Form, helping them make informed choices about post-16 and post-18 pathways including higher education, apprenticeship, training and employment. Working closely with the school’s Careers Leader and Sixth Form team, you will play a key role in delivering the school’s careers guidance programme.

The successful candidate will be qualified to Level 6 (or equivalent) in Careers Guidance and Development, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have experience of providing careers advice to young people. You will work collaboratively with staff, parents and external providers to ensure all students receive the information, advice and guidance they need to achieve their aspirations.

The Willink is a successful and oversubscribed school with a strong international ethos, listed in the top ten non-selective schools in Berkshire in 2019. The school has 1250 students on roll including 220 in the Sixth Form, and is situated in a pleasant semi-rural setting south west of Reading.
