The Strategy, Governance, and External Relations (SGER) service leads the University in both its outward facing activities and our internal corporate relationships and communications. The team covers a range of activities, including Communications, Events and Engagement, Governance, Marketing, Web and Design, Strategic Planning, UK Recruitment and Admissions and Administrative Services. The staff comprises a mix of specialisms to ensure the University is positioned with a distinctive voice and creates impact in terms of both reputation and revenue.

SGER is seeking to appoint a Marketing Officer to join the Marketing, Web and Design team. This role will play a key part in growing Abertay’s Home (Scottish) enrolments by planning and delivering high-performing marketing that turns interest into applications and enrolments.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working closely with colleagues across SGER, academic faculties and external agencies, you will deliver end-to-end Home (Scottish) marketing activity aligned to key recruitment milestones. You will define target audiences, sharpen messages and work with our agency partner to select the right mix of channels, including paid search, social, display and out-of-home. You will write clear, persuasive copy for web pages, landing pages, emails, paid ads and short video, and use GA4 and campaign data to test, optimise and improve performance.

The role has a strong conversion focus. You will help design and deliver activity from enquiry through to enrolment, including email and SMS journeys, retargeting activity, and targeted communications for Open Days, Offer Holder Days and campus tours. You will support the development of subject-level value propositions with Programme Leaders, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, inclusive and on brand, and that all activity complies with CMA, ASA and data protection requirements.

You will bring proven experience of UK recruitment marketing, strong copywriting skills and hands-on digital campaign management across search, social and programmatic channels. Confident working with agencies and internal stakeholders, you will be comfortable turning insight into clear recommendations that improve results. You will be a well-organised self-starter who can juggle multiple campaigns, meet deadlines and communicate progress clearly under pressure.
