An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a motivated Dietitian with an interest and knowledge in paediatric diabetes!

We are looking for a Dietitian working in paediatrics and/or diabetes who is interested in providing a specialist dietetic service to children and young adults with diabetes. A principle focus of this fixed term post will be to implement a quality improvement project to establish the role of a Dietitian as an educator within the team, given the rapidly evolving nature of paediatric diabetes. In addition, the post holder will develop and roll out a structured education programme targeting children with type 2 diabetes and their families. You will be a core and valued member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) working alongside another highly experienced paediatric Diabetes Dietitian.

Depending on your experience to date, we will support you with training in paediatric diabetes, including up skilling in various diabetes technologies such as hybrid closed loop pumps.

As the nature of paediatric diabetes and the role of a Dietitian in this field continues to progress, working within this MDT offers many exciting CPD and learning opportunities.

The team recently won a special recognition award for valuing equality, diversity and inclusion and have been nominated for numerous other awards at local and national level. Take a look on X @CYPD_UHL

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
