Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager

Location: Luton Employment Type: Full-Time, PermanentReports To: Financial Controller / Head of Finance

Role Overview:We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead our AP function in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is a fully office-based role in Luton, ideal for someone who thrives on structure, enjoys improving manual processes, and is passionate about delivering accurate and timely payments.Key

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of high-volume invoices.
  • Manage a small AP team, providing leadership, training, and support.
  • Maintain and improve manual processes, identifying opportunities for streamlining and automation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries and maintain strong relationships.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly AP reports, including aged creditor analysis and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support month-end close activities related to AP.
  • Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable, ideally in a high-volume, manual environment.
  • Strong understanding of AP processes and controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting systems (experience with [insert system name if known] is a plus).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring AP staff is desirable.
