About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) ready to make a real difference in the lives of young learners with diverse communication needs. In this role, you will work closely with students who experience Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues, and medical conditions, providing tailored therapy to help them reach their full potential.  

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Assessment: Carry out speech, language, and swallowing assessments.
  • Therapy Planning: Develop individual treatment programmes for patients.
  • Intervention: Deliver evidence-based therapy sessions to improve communication skills.
  • Education: Support families, carers, and staff with advice and training
  • Multidisciplinary Working: Collaborate with teachers, doctors, and therapists.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed case notes in line with clinical standards.

Key Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Knowledge of Therapy Approaches: Familiarity with a variety of evidence-based approaches to support language development, including those tailored to students with additional learning needs. 
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and the legal right to work in the UK. 
  • Safeguarding Awareness: A strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
