What you'll be doing:
- Working in a team focused on the successful development and delivery of energy projects, providing decarbonised solutions for large energy users
- Leading our Energy Projects Development Team to win high quality projects and set our delivery teams up for success
- Being the subject matter expert for all things to do with project development, working with our Business Development, Technical Direction and Supply Chain teams to develop the most appropriate project development and delivery strategies including estimating and procurement strategies
- Growing specialisms within the team, particularly cost estimating and project scheduling
- Working on complex project opportunities, with highly interlinked techno-economic capital and operating models and third party funding mechanisms
- Maintaining strategic relationships with key supply chain partners to ensure we are able to offer the best solutions to our customers and can have high levels of certainty that our projects can be successfully delivered
- Linking together our project development and project delivery teams, facilitating seamless transfers between project phases, closing the feedback loop to ensure that lessons are being learnt and that the team as a whole is continually improving
What we're looking for:
- Degree level qualification in a relevant engineering, construction or commercial discipline and membership of a relevant professional institution
- Extensive project management skills and experience, including experience of project development in an engineering and construction project context, ideally in the energy sector
- Experience of leading direct reports to ensure the Energy Projects Development Team is a high performing team
- Experience of business development to ensure customer focus is maintained
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills with high level stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and in all forms
- Ability to simultaneously manage a wide range of opportunities with competing and changing priorities in a dynamic business development environment
- Flexibility to travel to varying project locations
- Experience of various decarbonisation solutions/technologies would be an advantage
