Your new company
You'll be joining a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality ecological services. The team is collaborative, supportive, and committed to professional development, offering both in-house and external training opportunities. Their Cambridge office houses a small team and is currently expanding.
Your new role
As a Senior Ecologist based in Cambridge, you'll lead and manage ecological projects, plan and resource surveys, and produce a full range of reports. You'll liaise with clients on complex projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development. You'll be at the helm of expanding the team at the start of the 2026 ecological season. The role is primarily office-based with flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week.
What you'll need to succeed
- BSc in Ecology (or similar), MSc ideal
- Ideally an Associate CIEEM membership (and progressing to Full)
- Strong experience in a similar ecological consultancy role
- Expertise in PEA/UK Habitat Surveys and protected species surveys
- Protected species licences (e.g., GCN, Dormouse, Bat) would be ideal
- FISC qualification would be ideal
- Strong knowledge of UK/EU legislation and planning policy
- Proficiency in GIS and data analysis
- Excellent report writing and client communication skills
