Job Description
The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a Social Worker – Level 3 (Social Care Qualified) to join the Children’s Services directorate. This temporary role will provide essential support while recruitment is in progress, ensuring the delivery of high-quality social care services to children, young people, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake assessments of children and families in line with statutory requirements and best practice.

Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring safeguarding and welfare are prioritised.

Provide direct support and intervention to children and families, working collaboratively with partner agencies.

Manage a varied caseload, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with legislation and council policies.

Contribute to multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and reviews.

Deliver professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner organisations.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the council’s values, equalities policies, and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.

Experience working within Children’s Services or a similar statutory social care environment.

Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.

Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centred social care services.
