Job: Warehouse Operative
ESS Employment Ltd are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join our local client. Transport is essential due to client’s location. Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday – Thursday 9.00am – 5pm, and Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm. As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse by assisting with various tasks, including stock control, picking and packing, and general warehouse upkeep. You will also support installations and provide services on client sites when required.
You will be working alongside a dedicated team where their passion and drive for the business is truly inspiring. In your role you will be working in a very hands-on position that is essential to the function of the business.
The role requires a confident, hands-on individual who can work effectively as part of a team, quick to learn and is able to apply logic and reasoning to help solve problems and understand the need to ensure standards and services are maintained to a high standard.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the daily operations of the warehouse, including the receipt and processing of goods.
• Handle picking, packing, and organizing collections to ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels using a computerized stock management system.
• Unload and load goods vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient handling of stock.
• Oversee stock control processes to minimize errors and losses.
• Move stock efficiently around the warehouse, maintaining an organized and safe working environment.
• Perform regular housekeeping tasks to ensure the warehouse is clean and well-maintained.
• Support administrative tasks as required, including logging and updating inventory records.
• Occasionally, travel to client sites to assist with installations and provide on-site services.
Requirements:
• Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving stock.
• Full, clean driving license.
• Basic computer skills, with experience using stock management systems.
• Previous experience in warehouse operations preferred.
• Forklift Truck (FLT) license is advantageous but not essential.
