Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Deputy Head of Legal Services.
This is a full time role working within the Trust's busy Legal ServicesDepartment, supporting the Head of Legal Services.
It will be based at Fairfield General Hospital but there will be some requirement to travel to other sites and to Coroner's Court.
• The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Head of Legal Services in developing and implementing the core objectives aligned to Patient Safety strategies across the organisation. In conjunction with the Head of Legal Services assist in developing systems of Coronial Inquest preparation to ensure that key lessons are learnt following any sub-optimal care episode, to ensure that families are supported and Coronial Regulation 28 reports are prevented.
• Assist in managing the Trust’s claims and inquest function to ensure that employer’s liability, public liability, clinical negligence claims and contentious inquests are managed effectively minimising the risk to the Trust.
• Foster close working relationships and promote a positive safety culture across the organisation working collaboratively with colleagues in Governance, healthcare professionals and relevant external organisations.
