Crynodeb
To work according to the Nursing & Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct and carry continuing responsibility for: -
Protecting and supporting the health of individual patients and clients. - Assessment of care and health education needs for all patients
Development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care.
To assist with the responsibility for the organisation and management of Moorfield's at the Northwest site Northwick Park, including the supervision of staff and teaching of students whilst working as an Adnexal/IVT practitioner.
To assist with the management of Moorfield's at Northwick Park and have the skills and knowledge to take appropriate action when dealing with emergencies.
To provide professional leadership of the departments and be a visible presence for staff and patients.
To be responsible for promoting and implementing the MEH Nursing Strategy in the departments and: -
a) Review nursing practice and implement appropriate changes based on research/best practice.
b) Work towards advanced nursing practice and skills as per service demand and business planning
c) Developing and implementing Audit, Quality and Risk Management initiatives.
• Demonstrate appropriate practice and specialist advice in the admission, planning, implementation and discharge of patient care in the AMD pathway. This includes history taking and the requesting of agreed diagnostic procedures/clinical investigations.
• Lead on the provision of evidence-based nursing practice.
• Be responsible for the assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of high standards of nursing care.
• Be conversant with Trust Policies and guidelines and ensure compliance.
• Investigate and respond to complaints both written and verbal within the service. Report information and findings back to the Head of Nursing.
• Facilitate a high-quality, cost-effective specialist service through monitoring and audit and other quality initiatives agreed by the Trust.

To support and lead the adnexal and IVT service as an expert ophthalmic clinical practitioner, ensuring that staff have the appropriate skills necessary to care for the designated patient group.
Monday – (Adnexal) Botox/post op
Tuesday (Adnexal) Consultant Clinic and Minor Op
Wednesday- IVT
Thursday - IVT
Friday – (Adnexal) Consultant clinic alternate week with telephone clinic
