The post holder must have a core profession and as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Systemic Therapist or Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist. We also welcome applicants with a Specialist Nursing or Social Worker qualification, with additional experience and training in child and adolescent mental health and registration with a UK professional regulatory body. We also welcome applicants who are accredited CBT therapists and Art therapists with experience working with children and young people.

The Clinician/Supervisor will be responsible for the individual and group supervision of Band 4 / 5 trainee or qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners and Child Wellbeing Practitioners, Band 6, senior wellbeing practitioners, and some aspects of clinical service delivery, including direct psychological interventions with children, young people and their parents, and consultation to schools. Working under the direction of the Clinical Team Lead, and the Operational Manager, they will play an important role in the development of the MHSTs and integration within local education provision, facilitating wider service transformation within the local CYP systems and partnership. The post-holder’s clinical work will include: liaison and consultation with schools, developing and co-producing psycho-education / psychological workshops, resources, and other aspects of service delivery and training in schools, and supporting the development and embedding of the MHSTs in schools.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

To oversee the formulation and intervention plans for schools, parents, children and young people being supported by the EMHPs/CWPs using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service; individual and group.

Working in partnership with schools, to support children, young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.

Provide a range of information and support to schools for evidence based psychological interventions, including guided self-help and signposting to other services where appropriate.

To provide clinical supervision to EMHPs / CWPs, along with other clinical supervisors in the team.

To support the EMHPs /CWPs to liaise with other education, health, social care and voluntary sector staff from a range of agencies, in the care provided to clients.

Where required / available, attend and fulfil the requirements of any supervisor training to support the post including practical, academic and practice-based assessments- to support EMHPs in meeting their requirements.
