Recruitment Profile

The Pastoral Support Assistant (PSA) acts as the first point of contact in the school for the care and nurture of young people within their House.

The PSA will work closely with young people, parents and teaching staff to support all young people to engage with school and their learning. Kelso High School is one of nine secondary schools in the Scottish Borders, serving learners aged 11 to 18.

In our 2025/26 academic year, the school has an enrolment of 555 learners. Our dedicated and highly skilled teaching and support staff bring a diverse range of experiences, fostering a collaborative environment where staff can learn from each other and enhance the overall quality of teaching and learning for our learners—a key focus of improvement at KHS. Essential

4 Standard Grades (or equivalent) at Level 3 or above, including English and Maths.
